Step one: licence check (pass or fail)
Every casino must hold a current UK Gambling Commission licence. We check the licence number against the Commission's public register. No licence, no listing, whatever the commercial terms.
How we score casinos
Licensed casinos are scored out of 5 using six weighted criteria:

Fees and limits15%Deposit and withdrawal fees, minimums and maximums.
Bonus fairness15%Which payment methods qualify, wagering and key terms.
Verification and support10%How quickly and clearly KYC and payment queries are handled.
Safer gambling tools10%Deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and how easy they are to find.
How we score payment methods
Each payment method page shows a score out of 10, built from five sub-scores: payout speed, availability at UK casinos, low fees, privacy (whether your card or bank details are shared) and bonus-friendliness. Methods that UK-licensed casinos can't accept, such as credit cards and crypto, aren't scored.
How we test
- Register and verify as a normal UK customer, timing how long verification takes.
- Deposit with each payment method we cover at that casino, recording minimums, fees and bonus eligibility.
- Withdraw with each method that supports payouts, timing the pending, processing and transfer stages separately.
- Contact support with a payment question to judge speed and accuracy.
- Recheck monthly and update ratings, offers and payout times when anything changes.
Independence
Casinos can't buy a higher score. Where we have a commercial relationship with an operator, it has no bearing on the criteria above. Read our advertiser disclosure.
